R2V still lives
Well here it is, an update finally! Sorry for the lack of news :(
Everyone here at the R2V team has been really busy with real life, the mod and other things.
We are eagerly anticipating Blitzkrieg II, expect us to work on that game too and provide some mods. We still have plenty to release for Blitz I though so stick around for a bit longer!
We are discussing a few things at the moment, expect a bigger more informative update within the week.

Download Problems -
Rico - 05th Oct 2003 20:39

Download speeds and downloads not starting.
I have receieved many e-mails about people having problems downloading files from our download section. In short, they are either very slow, or dont start.
As you may or may not know, the web space is provided free by Jolt and give priority to those in the UK. People in the UK should be enjoying good download speeds i hope, those outside the UK most likely arent. Unfortunately, our own server would cost too much so we cannot do much about this other than provide "mirrors" where the files can be found elsewhere. These usually can be found in the corresponding news post if one is made.
For those people having problems with the download starting, then this thread should answer your problem. Basically, you either have to close your Firewall, or adjust it to give site information to "downloads.jolt.co.uk".
Hope this helps :) |

Alternative Campaign V1.01 BETA -
Rico - 23rd Sep 2003 19:35
|
12 more core units in the campaigns! Now fight through with 24 core units!
Modder Babs ( Website ) has created an exciting new mod whereby the main feature is that you now have double the amount of core units! You can now fight through each of the original campaigns with more fire power than ever before.
There are a few smaller changes to the ranks and experience, view the readme included in the .zip download for those.
Make sure you check it out. The file is about 10 megs and can be found in our "Non R2V Gameplay Mods" download section, or at Babs' web site.
He also sends along this note: "I recommend you use this mod along with the Road to Victory 1.3a "realism" mod, since I used it and things are balanced to these statistics"
Now dont delay, download it now! |

LUA Script Functions Final PDF -
Rico - 12th Sep 2003 16:29
|
Translated by Calvin & Bob
You'll now find the final 1.6 version of Calvin's PDF LUA Functions Guide in the Tutorial download section. It's was translated by Calvin & Bob, and BBFred just proofread it to its final 1.61 version. It's a very comprehensive & detailed guide of all LUA commands needed to build scripts, much better than the Nival help file on the subject. Its in .pdf format and is a huge 27 pages long but only a 255k download.
This file is highly recommended for anyone who makes single or multiplayer maps as it covers everything to do with the LUA scripting. |

R2V Realism Version 1.3a Released -
Rico - 06th Sep 2003
|
R2V Realism 1.3a: Download Mirror 1, Mirror 2 - (German)
As promised the latest version of the Road to Victory Realism mod is now out, grab it from our "Road to Victory" section on the download page. Select R2V Realism 1.3a, the older versions have less changes and are not as good. The old 1.3 version that was released a few weeks ago has now been removed as it is virtually the same as 1.3a but had a number of bugs and a few less features.
This latest versions weighs in at 3.6 megs, and mirrors of the file will be added to this news post as we receive them
See the news post from yesterday to see what has been fixed and added. We highly recommend you download this version. Those who were frustrated with the problems in 1.3 should now be satisfied that all the bugs we are aware of have been ironed out (send in any if you find them).
In addition to the fixes, a few things were added. Again, see the previous news posts to read about those.
German note: The German readme is now ..... |

R2V Multiplayer -

Do you want to play R2V Realism online against other players?
Ok a post on the CDV Forums got me thinking. As our current realism mod was only really intended for singleplayer use, we kind of over looked the fact that people might want to play it in multiplayer also.
You may know that you can load the mod in-game from the options, but as there are no R2V single or R2V multiplayer maps yet you cant load anything (thus why you need to install it the other way so you can play it on the original campaigns).
Anyway, what we could do is make those multiplayer maps R2V compatible so that you can load the mod from the menu, and then can host and join multiplayer games.
In the multiplayer lobby, you can see there is a column for any mods that the host is using. If our mod was selected and hosted on a R2V map, it would show there.
Vote on the poll, and let us know whether you'd be interested in playing R2V Realism online ..... |
